We're only about two-and-a-half short months from 2027! Can you believe it?!
Back in July, I set these goals for the third quarter of 2026:
- Publish 3 more patterns to the Etsy store
- Publish at least one free pattern here (or turn an old one into a pdf)
- Finish and re-photograph the Easy Peasy Baby Sweater
- Finish the Celtic Knot Cowl
- Make at least 4 more fancy squares
- Make a pair of Regnbue Raggies socks from Strikkgaern
- Make six Celtic Bag Charms by Jennifer E. Ryan for my Sukkah garland
- Continue charity stitching by making more bonding squares, finish the Helix Brioche Hat, make the Changing Leaves Hat by Will Spargur, and start making dishcloths for my annual foodbank donation
Since then, I've made significant progress on those goals. To start, I did publish three more patterns, although I didn't get the third up until last week. I published the Biased Cables scarf (knitted), the Longitude hat (crocheted), and the Pinwheel Purse (knitted). You can find them over at the Stitch Whisper Designs Etsy Shop.
As for a free pattern last quarter, I published a post about making a crocheted boa from a single skein of ultra chunky yarn. It's not really a pattern, but it is a set of instructions that result in a finished scarf.
I did finish making a new sample of my Easy Peasy Baby Sweater, and after a long, loooong delay, I even got the buttons attached. I still haven't taken or uploaded new photos, but that will be coming soon, now that the weather has shifted.
I had a lot of fun making the Misty Mornings Celtic Knot Cowl! You can read my thoughts on the pattern here.
My fancy squares, however, have been on the back burner a bit. I had set the goal in July of finishing four during the third quarter. Since I was focused on other projects, I finished Saffron from Polly Plum, Stille Nacht from Lisa Mauser, and started Quatrefoil Rosette, also from Lisa Mauser. I'm hoping to make more progress on that project as the year finishes out.
The Regnbue Raggies from Strikkgaern also took a backseat to other projects, but I still managed to finish the first sock and start the second. You can read here about how I've managed with a pattern written in Norwegian.
One of the things that took precedence over other projects was my Celtic Bag Charm project. Those I had a deadline to finish, and I made it...barely.
As for charity stitching, I did finish both the Helix Brioche Hat and the Changing Leaves Hat. I also made progress on my annual bonding square donation, and I got started on making dishcloths.
To finish out the year, my goals are to:
- Publish one more pattern and two pattern collections for the Etsy Shop
- Publish at least one free pattern
- Upload new photos for the Easy Peasy Baby Sweater
- Finish the Regnbue Raggies
- Make four fancy squares
- Make the Cascading Cowl and matching hat from Mamquam Designs
- Make two Bunny Tail Beanies from Ekaterina Filippova-Blanchard
- Finish making 24 dishcloths to donate (I've already made 6)
- Finish making 50 bonding squares to donate (I've made about half)
- Send off my various annual donations
Onward!
